那时 earliest fall of east陵 gate, I was alone on the road; people sat down together at the bus stop. The old man with his large cap walked by me, and he said: 'Ah, it's hard to feel anything in your heart.' That moment, I felt a part of myself die, but not completely.
I stood up, then began walking down through east陵 gate. The first signs were fall leaves falling on the ground; then I passed through the gate by myself. The first group that came was the old man and his cap-wearing friend. They talked about how their lives were going to change. But as I walked away from the gate, it started getting harder and harder. The fall leaves continued to fall without stopping, their falling sounds becoming more and more distinct.
The fall is a natural thing, something that should happen during a person's life. But for me, it was such an odd occurrence that even now, I couldn't understand why it happened at all. That is the feeling that when my eyes closed, they started to close again.
It had been eight years since my mother died. He and his wife had come back home one day, but he didn't know where to go. They were both working hard, but their homes were quiet except for the fall sounds. I sat here, reading the news about the mother's funeral. The news was sad and heavy, but still comforting because it was the same as before.
His wife came back just now, bringing her own meals and snacks. He also talked to me about his job at the local grocery store. She said: 'I want you to succeed in your career.' I replied modestly that we would never be happy forever, but I also knew that even though our lives didn't look good, we couldn't stop them from moving forward.
In the meantime, my school had been very successful. I felt that my life was going through a bit of trouble, and now it looked like everything was going according to plan. But as I stood there watching the news, I could not help but feel something wrong about things.
This is why I wrote this book. It's called 登 high, and it talks about how I saw myself growing older. Even though I didn't look forward to living forever, now that I am 24, I can still feel an obligation to live for my parents' lives as well.
I wrote the title of the book in a small box on my desk, so people wouldn't know who made it. The front cover was just a simple drawing of me standing tall, and the back cover had some photos of olden days. The title is in bold because it's saying something different from the text below.
The first page gives an overview of what I wrote about. The book is not long, but it's written with lots of words that make sense when you read them aloud. Even though the sentences are tricky, they're clear and easy to understand.
When I started writing this, I felt a mix of excitement and sorrow. I wanted to talk about my life in a way that was honest and true. But as I wrote, I also realized how much someone should be proud of for going through all these changes and facing all the challenges.
I tried to write about how I had grown older, but it wasn't perfect. I didn't want to come across as ungrateful or sad because I didn't know where to start. Instead, I wanted to focus on the things that had changed in me, like my strength, resilience, and patience.
Throughout this process, I kept reminding myself why I wrote this book. It's not just about telling a story; it's about giving readers a sense of what it means to grow up and how much someone can do when they face tough times.
The first few chapters talk about the emotions that I felt growing older. The next ones show how I tried to explain my life through the lens of my past experiences. And at the end, it's all tied together with an invitation to read what I wrote later in the book.
As I continued writing, I realized that some parts were going slow and not as smooth as they should be. There are moments where I feel like I'm stuck or not making progress. But I knew that was part of being human; it's okay when you don't understand something immediately.
I kept trying to find a way to explain these ideas, but no matter what I tried, sometimes the answers weren't coming out as expected. That wasn't bad, because it showed me that even after all those years of changing, my understanding is still imperfect.
But that was okay too. It shows that I'm learning and growing on my own. And that's what I hope to share with readers—how much they can learn from their own lives and experiences.
